Why: Pepper that comes already ground is exposed to oxidation which reduces its benefits and flavor. I’m personally a huge black pepper fan, thanks mom! and will grind it on just about anything. By freshly grinding it, you are allowing the naturally occurring oils to release at that moment which means you’re getting as much of the vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that it contains.

The Unicorn Mills 6″ Magnum Pepper Mill I’ve found to be the ideal size, height and width, and most importantly (IMO) grinds with minimal effort. The only “flaw” if there was one is that it’s easier to fill if you have a funnel. Manageable without, but easier with.
